Another Pantry Remodel : HomeImprovement

Here’s the album.

We’ve hated our pantry pretty much since we moved into this house about 2 ½ years ago. It was small, dark, and we just didn’t have enough space to store everything. Any organization we tried to implement inevitably went out the window because we couldn’t find anything, let alone a space to put new items.

I hadn’t given much thought to fixing it until my husband sent me this post one day: https://www.reddit.com/r/HomeImprovement/comments/m16d14/weekend_pantry_makeover_saw_another_pantry_post/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

And I thought, “huh, yeah, I could do that pretty easily.” And thus our pantry remodel began.

I got everything most everything from Home Depot, with the supplies for the LED lights coming from Amazon.

Total Cost – $307.34

  • Tools – $34.96

    • Keyhole saw – $12.97

    • Soldering Iron – $20.99

  • Materials – $70.92

    • Spax Phillips Head Screws – $9.50

    • 18ga Brad Nails – $8.98

    • Wire Nuts – $4.98

    • Water-Based Polyurethane – $16.48

    • Paint Brush (I’m pretty particular about the brushes I use for poly and needed a new one)

    • Roll of rags – $4.28

    • (2) 7” Roller Tray – $5.94

    • Heat Shrink Tubing – $9.79

    • Primer – already had on hand

    • Sherwin Williams Alabaster paint – already had on hand

    • Varathane Dark Walnut stain – already had on hand

  • Lumber – $113.29

    • 1”x1” Random Length Red Oak (25.5 ft total) – $20.25

    • (2) 1”x2” Common Board – $6.46

    • (3) ¾” 2’x4’ Birch Plywood – $86.58

  • Electrical – $89.17

I’m very pleased with the outcome. We have plenty of space for all of our items, and more importantly, we can see them!
