My cat scratched several spots in the hardwood flooring, of course just before we are supposed to move out Saturday. I have never seen cat claws cause damage like this.
I’m new to Copenhagen and can’t find anyone to come fix it in time. The hardwood floors here are finished with lye and then white soap. It’s a Scandinavian thing. My boss told me that putting more soap on the scratches should cause the grain to rise and then I can buff them out, but it didn’t really work that well.
I went to the hardware store and the guy who sold me the soap gave me some sandpaper and also seemed confident this combo would work, but it didn’t. Any advice? I would be eternally grateful, I don’t want to lose my deposit and mostly feel terrible causing damage to these nice people’s floors.
