Engineered hardwood floors, quality is suspect, attempt to re-stain and repair or replace? : HomeImprovement

Here’s my situation, got a place, floors are 15 years old, engineered hardwood, unsure of the quality of it, seems that they’re maple. Some scratches as you’ll see in the picture, it’s weathered, not sure if there’s enough top coat to sand off to begin with. Would you attempt to save this? Is engineered even worth saving or just replacing with vinyl or laminate? What’s your opinion? I am on a bit of a time crunch, I get 5 days to do 800 sqft, and would be hiring a professional to help / support with whatever it is I choose to undertake – not flying solo.
