I am debating options for my French drain that outflows into a flower bed.
As you can see in the pictures, this drain will wash out any mulch in the flowerbed and onto the street during a bad storm. Not sure who designed it this way or why it doesn’t flow to the street like my neighbors.
Anyway, my plan right now is to dig around the drain, about 8-12 inches deep and 12 to 24 inches in diameter. Then fill that hole with drainage rock and cover with decorative river rock. Do you think that will be enough to keep the water at bay and prevent the mulch washout?
Any other options that I could manage? Getting someone to correct the drain and flow to the street would be ideal but most like not feasible at this time.
