In December we noticed the front door of the house sticking. We figured it was just because it was winter and it would fix itself. Then it just seemed to get worse so we shaved the top of the front door. It was okay for a week, but the next week it started sticking again. We also noticed a crack from the corner of the door frame to the ceiling (pic linked below), that we didn’t notice before but are not sure if it wasn’t not there before. Should we keep shaving the door, or wait till it’s summer and see if it unsticks, or could it be a foundation issue (because of the crack and that it keeps sticking repeatedly)? We’ve lived in houses before where the front door sticks when it’s cold but it would fix itself eventually, this just seems like it’s getting worse. We live in northern california/east bay area (Solano County).
