Hello all, really appreciate all who contribute here.
We are trying to install a larger than original medicine cabinet. When I opened the sheetrock, I discovered 2 bare copper wires between studs and sheetrock right in the way.
I believe these are grounding wires. There is no slack in them because they are looped around nails in inaccessible areas. I cannot install the new medicine cabinet with these in the way.
I considered splicing them onto more grounding wire, but I was informed you cannot have connectors even for ground wires outside of a junction box.
How would you work around this problem?
