In the process of replacing my old shower valve faucet, I managed to drop the the plastic faceplate (the covering of the set screw, from this kind of knob: https://imgur.com/mdcuvY4 , just the disk shaped faceplate) down my tub drain. I pumped the standing water out but I don't see it. I have a 36" long retrieval tool, and in spite of its flex, I can't seem to get around the bend to it. Should I try using a wet/dry vac (suction) to dislodge it? I'm lost and I'm hoping to avoid having to do any heavy work, though that may be a fools hope. I've learned my lesson now, I'll never work over an open drain hole again!
