Leaking sink : HomeImprovement

Hi all, first time home owner, the sink in my kitchen has a leak where the pipe connects, it’s a very slow leak just a few teaspoons when the sink is used that I’m able to catch in a small container. I know zero about plumbing so any guidance on how I can fix it would be appreciated. Should I just try to tighten the connection? Is there a seal that needs to be replaced?

Also, there’s some time of corrosion/crusty stuff on the p trap – not leaking but does that need to be fixed or replaced or is it purely cosmetic and I can ignore for now?
