I’m located in Southern California for context.
So I’m converting an extra room in my home into a office/studio. I want to install a lighting grid like what you would find in a photo studio or a theatre, like this (https://imgur.com/a/OC9e8XM). These are the pipes, https://www.bobcometal.com/hot-rolled-black-pipe-schedule-40-1-1-2-inch.html, I’m planning on using 10 foot lengths in a cross pattern, 3 pipes horizontally and 3 vertically.
I’m trying to figure how I can mount it to the ceiling of my soon to be studio so it will be secure and so that I will be able to hang lights off of it without fear of it falling.
Could I screw it into the joists at even intervals and use clevis hangers (https://www.homedepot.com/p/The-Plumber-s-Choice-1-1-2-in-Clevis-Hanger-for-Vertical-Pipe-Support-in-Standard-Galvanized-Steel-112HCSG/309454834)?
Does anybody have any other suggestions, besides the clevis hangers on how to do it because I’m kinda stumped at this point. Thank you to anyone who responds!
