Hi all. Just had a new modcon boiler put in to replace the 35 year monster previously there. The install (to my untrained eye) looks good, but the way they did the condensate drain line seems a little hackey. Instead of running a new ptrap or some other drain line out of the main sewer waste line, they drilled a hole through one of the clean outs and are having the line drop straight in. I've got very little plumbing knowledge but that seems like, at the least, sewer gas could get up into the condensate line now?
Before I bring it up with the contractor (have only paid half) I wanted to gut check with people more knowledgeable. Does this meet code?
