Trying to keep costs down.
I wanted to insulate the ceiling above the study, as well as the interior wall to the 3rd bedroom.
I was thinking the bathroom wall, closest to the stairs and the powder room wall thats shared w/kitchen.
In these situations, where would the sound most likely “escape”. The plumbing side walls seem deeper than non plumbing walls.
How does this affect noise transmission?
Ideally, I would want to insulate as many walls as i can to reduce noise, but Im on a budget (already over) and want to focus on the places where it may pay off the most.
Also, keep in mind that the interior walls are 5/8 and not 1/2inch.
