Uncovering bad repairs…

We had some strong winds here in CA recently and lots of people had their fences blown away. In my case, the fence between my neighbor and myself looked pretty solid, all fence posts were replaced not so long ago ( previous owner ) After the wind and some rain, I noticed a portion of the fence leaning. I am like, it must be the dirt around just got a little bit wet and loose. To my surprise, the newer fence post was put over the old rotten post just little below ground level. This brilliant craftsmanship resulted in newer post to rot as well… Good thing is that I found a semi easy solution – digging the old rotten post, cutting and cleaning up the newer one, adding an anchor and putting new concrete mix. Bad thing ( I live on a corner lot, very long fence) – I am starting to find more and more fence posts that need this fix.
