I live in the Southeast, Climate Zone 3 (above the warm-humid line). My house doesn’t have a vapor barrier, and I’m looking to install one and have a vented crawlspace. While I’m down there, I’d like to do something about the wonderful fiberglass stalactites in between the joists. I had the idea that I could use mineral wool. That is until I got a ballpark number. For 1600ft of floorspace, I would need around $3K worth of mineral wool.
Is there an alternative to mineral wool and fiberglass?
Here are some photos of the crawlspace that I am trying to battle.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
